I have released an updated version of the Preschool Assessment & Goals Workbook! Check it out HERE
When I began prepping for Preschool at home, I started looking for some resources I could use as an assessment guide for Greyson.
I could not find anything that I really liked. I had some specific requirements in mind and was unable to find something that encompassed all of them.
- COLOR!
- Fun images that would engage Greyson
- Something I would want to keep as a memento of this stage in our lives
- Fun
- Easy to use
I was able to find some that cost about 10.00, but they did not show all of the pages and they only came in black and white.
So, I did A LOT of research. I scoured the internet, I contacted two local preschools and asked for their assessment forms. I also contacted the local health department and received their Ages and Stages sheets. I used all of my resources to make the 18 page workbook.

Thank you for sharing this. I just have a question. I’m not sure how the goals section works. Could you explain? Thanks!
Lindsay Butler says
Thank you!
The way I use the “goals” section is: Once I had fully assessed Greyson, I reviewed the results to determine what our goals for our preschool year would be.
For example, after assessing your child you may see that they struggled with number recognition, so working on that would be a goal for the year.
In our case- Greyson really struggled with working scissors- so his motor (specifically his scissor skills) was one of our goals for our past year.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
xo,
Lindsay

This is adorable and seems to really encompass everything that is in a standard pre-k assessment. Thanks for this!
I do want to let you know, though, that some of the pages aren’t loading when we click the download button, so it seems incomplete–not sure if scripting is off or if you’d need to reset something on it.
Thanks again! 🙂

Thank you so much!
Also, THANK YOU for letting me know there was a problem with a few pages. I believe we have solved the problem, and all the sheets are now showing up.
Enjoy!

Thank you so much – this has been a great starting point with my 4 year old. She is much further in areas I would have guessed she knew little about and a little behind on some of the lower case letters, which I would have assumed she had down pat by now. THIS was an amazing tool to have at my disposal.
Thank you for your time and generosity!

Thank you so much, Heather!!

Hi, I love your ideas, and I plan on using this assessment format in my Pre-K classroom. I would like to know how and what you used to bind the pages together.

This is such a great set! I may sound really dumb but i am new to the idea of homeschooling my 3 1/2 year old – how do you use the workbook?
Chelsea @ Life With My Littles says

Hi Lindsay! I love the book you created. My district would like to print and give to our incoming Kindergarten parents to reinforce and practice the skills in the summer with their children before they start kindergarten in the fall. We were planning to print 1800 copies for the families of our kiddos. Are you okay if we put our district logo on there?

Thank you so much for sharing this workbook. I am a homeschooling mom from South Africa. Being able to download free workbooks and worksheets is a major help for me because things cost so much.
I really appreciate people like you!!!
